NJHS helped the custodians Tuesday, April 26th until 6:00. We had a great crew, but DANG, tying knots in those trash bags is HARD.
We were truly trying to make the custodians' jobs easier rather than harder. Each hallway (and the science rooms in the annex) was supervised by one of the officers or myself, and the kids really did work hard.
Let me tell you something else: these kids know how to volunteer. When Cheryl said, "I need 6 for A hall," no one looked around to see what their friends were doing. Six people just got up and formed a group. The big take away for them was that serving others is fun when they work together.
We'll be back at it Friday.
